Lemon basil - small leaved
Ocimum basilicum var. americanum
Basil with small leaves that taste like lemon. It is suitable for use in sweet and salty dishes. Leaves can also be dried and used in teas.
We can sow basil throughout the year in pots or crates and keep them indoors. We plant or sow it outside when the danger for saline has passed. Basil likes warm and sunny places, except when they are young - the sun can burn them. Basil doen't need watering, except if there is drought. If the plant is in pots we water it moderately - the soil has to be damp, not wet. The plants are stronger when they grow individually.
